This portfolio highlights a backgrounder I created at James Madison University on the recent measles outbreak in the United States. The project was written from the perspective of a university public relations team and focuses on informing the campus community while maintaining trust. It included key facts about the outbreak, prevention strategies, and the university’s response plan to the outbreak. The goal was to provide clear, accurate, and timely information during a public health crisis. This assignment helped me understand the importance of crisis communication and audience-focused messaging.
